What is the difference between a pivot door and a hinged door?
Both swing. A hinged door hangs off the side, on a wall or a fixed panel. A pivot door turns on hinges at the top and bottom, which lets it carry heavier glass and open wider with less visible hardware. It is a choice of hinge, not a different kind of door.
How much clearance does a swing door need?
Enough for the panel to open fully without hitting the vanity, the toilet or the towel rail. We check that at the measure, and if the room is too tight we will tell you and suggest a sliding door instead.
Can the door open both ways?
Some hinges allow it, which is useful in a tight bathroom. Tell us at the measure and we will specify hardware that does.
Will it leak at the hinge side?
Not when the door is measured and sealed correctly. The hinge side has its own seal detail and the door is hung so it closes evenly into it.
